- About Us
McCreary Centre Society is a non-government not-for-profit committed to improving the health of BC youth through research, evaluation and community based projects. Our vision is that all youth are supported to be healthy and connected.
To foster all aspects of youth health and positive development based on the strength of our research, evaluation, and engagement with youth and communities in the most culturally competent way possible.
Founded in 1977, the Society engages in a wide range of activities and research to identify and address the health needs of young people in the province.
The society takes its name from the late Dr. J.F. McCreary, a pediatrician and medical administrator, whose leadership in promoting inter-professional teaching and multi-disciplinary approaches in health care set a standard that the society seeks to emulate.
Our mission is to foster wider understanding of the importance of youth health, increase knowledge about youth health needs and issues, promote a continuing commitment to youth health issues, and initiate and implement innovative projects which directly address unmet health needs of young people.
Your donation is important in helping the McCreary Centre Society make this happen. By making a donation, you are supporting activities that foster positive youth development and promoting evidence-based knowledge and practices.
