Back Page/Front Stage

Have you ever thought about whether people hear what you are saying?  Or how they hear it?

Using the words of youth who completed the 2008 BC Adolescent Health Survey (AHS) as a springboard for theatre, the Back Page/ Front Stage workshop explores the relationship between students, statistics, and the adults who read the results.

In this interactive theatre-based workshop we will explore the results of the AHS, your thoughts on youth health, and how people view youth health as we move through improv exercises aimed at building your acting chops and prepare scenes to present to the rest of the group.  While increasing understanding of yourself and the people around you, Back Page/ Front Stage will explore adults’ decision making processes that affect you and your peers, take a look at who completes the questionnaires and also at the adults that end up reading the results.

It will challenge you to hear what other youth are saying and to get yourself heard.

Geared towards young people who have limited experience with theatre, this one day workshop is welcoming to youth groups of all skill levels who are interested, aged 13 and older.  It is free of charge and light refreshment will be provided.
