Research
The Adolescent Health Survey (AHS) is the most extensive study to date of the physical and emotional health of BC youth. AHS uses a questionnaire to gather information about the current health status of young people, and about factors that can influence health during adolescence and in later life. The AHS questionnaire includes questions on health status, health-promoting practices and risky behaviours. Questions were chosen to identify factors that influence both present and future health and well-being. Most health problems during the teenage years are caused by preventable actions, such as drinking and driving or unprotected sexual activity. Adolescence also is the time when individuals often establish life-long attitudes and habits, such as smoking, diet and exercise. > MORE on the Adolescent Health Survey
