Next Steps

The Next Steps is an interactive youth friendly workshop or workshop series used to take the results of McCreary research back to young people across British Columbia. Since the Next Steps workshop model was created in 1998, McCreary has taken research findings back to thousands of youth in communities across BC.

The goals of the Next Steps are to:

  • Share results of McCreary research with BC youth
  • Gather young people's feedback and perspectives on the results
  • Support youth to design and deliver sustainable projects which address health issues they identify through the survey results

Homeless and Street Involved Youth Next Steps

Next Steps workshops have also been held following the 2014 and 2006 Homeless and Street Involved Youth Surveys (HSIYS).

As part of the HSIYS Next Steps workshops, young people created clay animation films documenting the youth health issues most important to young people in their communities. These films can be viewed on McCreary's YouTube Channel here.
