We are excited to share that a new report, Nicotine use among BC youth, has been released.
The report focuses on vaping and smoking among the 38,277 BC youth in Grades 7 to 12 (aged 12–18) who filled out the 2023 BC Adolescent Health Survey, but also includes information about the use of other tobacco products such as chewing tobacco. Nicotine use among BC youth looks at recent and regular nicotine use, potential health risks associated with regular use, as well as supports that reduce the likelihood that young people will vape or smoke tobacco.
To go along with the report we have also released a by youth for youth poster, as well as five regional posters:
◗ Fraser
◗ Interior
◗ Island
◗ Northern
◗ Vancouver Coastal
A PowerPoint of the findings is available for download here, and a recorded presentation of the results is available on our YouTube channel: @McCrearyCentre.
